Default udev crash FC5 boot

I installed an HSF modem driver and udev keeps on crashing upon
booting. I tried to boot in single user mode, but since udev is called,

it doesn't solve my problem.

Unfortunately, I do not have the Fedora CD1 nor a fast connection to
the internet (to download the rescue CD or CD1).
Is there a way to create an emergency boot disk from Windows by
downloading the image from the web?

Thanks, Antoine

You can use a live CD like Knoppix or Ubuntu to use it as a rescue CD.

your problem can be resolved by stopping udev from starting during the
boot procedure.
i dont remmember exactly when udev is called in the boot procedure by
fc5
if it is done in the initrd you have can modify the initrd using a live
linux CD,
if it is done in the INIT , you can stop it there too.
then resolve you problem
and re enable udev to load during boot up.
