| I have recently switched to a new comp. system and wanted to keep a hard-drive from the old system as an auxilliary drive. So I bought a USB enclosure with a USB-ATA bridge and so here is my problem: I boot my new system with Knoppix CD, it starts hotplug, finds something on USB. Indeed usbview (/proc/bus/usb/devices) says I have a cypress controller on the usb bus, which is fine. It also has created /dev/sda and a mount point at /mnt/sda and even an fstab entry for /dev/sda. However, the harddrive in question used to have three partitions on it (boot, swap, and reiserfs). None of these partitions are visible and "fdsik /dev/sda" complains that it cannot seek on the drive. What am I missing/doing wrong? |
