Default using IIIMF in Gnome under VNC

Hi all,

I have problem in setting up a VNC session which able to invoke IIIMF.
Here are the stuff that I'd accomplished:

[root@VM02-PW470 ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 3)

[root@VM02-PW470 ~]# uname -a
Linux VM02-PW470 2.6.9-34.ELsmp #1 SMP Fri Feb 24 16:54:53 EST 2006
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

- (Direct monitor display) I can select the language (hz_tw.UTF-8) in
Gnome login screen. Icon, menu, etc shows correct i18n translation.
Input method can be selected, config via the toolbar applet. No problem
in input characters in XTerm or Firefox. I saved the session for that
user so that this language will be chosen as default in the next login.

- For that user, I created a vncserver session. I edited the
~/.vnc/xstartup that
# twm &
LANG=hz_TW.UTF-8; export LANG
gnome-session &

Under this VNC session, the Gnome language is correct. However, I am
unable to invoke the input method using the toolbar Applet.

Does anyone know the mechanism about how a VNC gnome session is created
? What's the difference between starting a VNC session and the ordinary
login session ?
