Can people recomend some good webcams? I have read that the philips ones are
best suported. Well what cams are these in? (ie logitech etc). Does it have
good light suport? ie 3com is amazeing under windows for light but poor in
linux). and maybe some screen shots?

Have you checked out the project page for the 3com homeconnect. It is at
sourceforge.net. Type 3com homeconnect webcam in the search box. Scroll
through the list till you find it. Go to the messages. They are working
to get this cam,so it works just like in Windows.
