| Hi, I have Mandrake 10 on a PC with an integrated graphic card. Currently I boot into a graphic mode using KDE. I'm considering installing a dedicated AGP card. Will MDK identify my new card during reboot, install the required drivers and boot into KDE as before? TIA |

No. You'll have to install drivers (or edit XF86Config-4 to manually make it use the default driver for that video card). What kind of AGP video card is it? -- If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much space. Linux Registered User #327951 |

Probably or maybe. And if things don't work as expected, fall back to normal VGA with 8 bits, and then reconfigure the video card. All via MandrakeControleCenter. If you install a new card, when you boot the change will be detected. If any drivers are required, you will be prompted for the appropriate disk from your install set.. I've done this on earlier versions of Mandrake.. Can't guarantee it will work in 10.. But even if it doesn't work, it shouldn't be hard to fire up harddrake and reconfigure things.. |
