| Upon removing Beryl, my Ubuntu/Gnome and Kubuntu/KDE windows have lost their borders, are "stuck" in one position (usually upper left), and have no control buttons on the upper right of the window. I also have no multiple desktops. IceWM seems to run fine, but neither desktop works. I have tried "dpkg-reconfigure gnome", "dpkg-reconfigure gdm" - neither seems to have had an effect. I've removed and reinstalled Gnome from the Synaptic package manager (desperation!), to no avail. My guess is that an underlying windows manager got hosed on the Beryl removal - but if Gnome uses Sawfish, and KDE uses kdm, why would they both be broken? | Using Ubuntu 7.04 Beta and I installed and uninstalled Beryl yesterday and it did the same thing, but once I'd done a restart I got everything back again.
