| Hi all: I own an HP ze5470us notebook with the dreaded broadcom wireless card. Broadcom does not support this card under Linux. So I got the Linux driver (ndiswrapper) installed and attached to wlan0 on my notebook. As far as I can tell the install was successful. I just don't know how to get the wireless started. Also, on the installation instructions they mention something along these lines: "Now setup the network parameters for the interface wlan0, this varies from distribution to distribution". This is the last step on the install and I don't know how to do that. Please advise. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). | These handy tools will give you lots of helpful info on how your network connections are working (or not): ifconfig (should be part of your standard install) iwconfig (in Debian, it's part of the wireless-tools package) I get the impression that ndiswrapper only provides the compatibility layer upon which you can use the Windows drivers; have you also installed said Windows drivers? Good luck; With my last brand-new notebook, it took me a few days to get a mostly satisfactory Linux install going, and more like a year to get all of the little odds 'n ends sorted out. Would've gone faster, but I got lazy and just used it as-is for months.
