Default xine cant work

When I excute xine, my computer will be dump. Could anyone help me to
solve this problem?

My equ lists below:
#Hardware
CPU - AMD Athlon XP 1.8 G.
Mainboard - MSI KM2M Combo-l
CD-Writer - LiteOn ATAPI 52x32x52x
#Software
Madrake 9.0

.... when you say 'dump' what exactly does that mean?
does xine start up?
or does xine crash when you load something into it?

Sorry!!

My xine will crash when it start up, I did not load anything into it.

When it has painted the function bar and the window to display movie,
the whole system has been crashed. Mostly I cannot use ctrl+alt+F2 to
change to another tty.
Can someone tell me why?
