| hello, i've 'experimented' with a quad ross cpu configuration on a ss20 (2 x dual 125mhz rt626 with 1024kb cache). they were running a quite long time without any problems but one tragic day they did not come back online after a poweroff and restart routine.....:-( it seems that they getting to hot and did not survive the power on routine where, which i suppose, some slightly higher current/voltage is at work....??? another theory is that they could be damaged by voltage flickering in the dc net......??? my questions: does anybody have similar experiences (maybe that is a common behaviour)? regular sparc cpus got fuses on their boards, what about the ross cpus? maybe just a minor component like a resistor is burned and could be exchanged. does anybody handled such a case before? thanks in advance lester |

This was noticed after moving the unit, but before powering it up, so no harm was done. I replaced the screws with metal one, but had to put an insulating washing under one of them.
