| Hi, What's this? http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=3442632124 For those of you who can't read German: The seller says that it's a AT enclosure of a Sun Server. IIRC Sun never sold a box looking like that, but there really is a Sun logo on it. mfg Dennis -- Das Fischstaebchen: Alle Geschoepfe Gottes vereint unter einer einzigen Panade |

Not very likely. The closest Sun came to that was the 386i. -- Rich Teer, SCNA, SCSA President, Rite Online Inc. Voice: +1 (250) 979-1638 URL: http://www.rite-online.net |

I think that switch was sometime in the late sun3/early sun4 days, but I'm not sure. (It also doesn't match the color scheme for the early sun4 server boxes I've seen, but seems to match more the sun3 case colors I've seen.) Maybe one of the old hardware pages linked to from http://www.sunhelp.org/ can be of more help. |> The seller says that it's a AT enclosure of a Sun Server. | |Not very likely. The closest Sun came to that was the 386i. I think some of the SPARCengine motherboards could go into an AT enclosure, but then the case wouldn't have a Sun logo on. -- __________________________________________________ ______________________ Alan Coopersmith alanc@alum.calberkeley.org http://www.CSUA.Berkeley.EDU/~alanc/ aka: Alan.Coopersmith@Sun.COM Working for, but definitely not speaking for, Sun Microsystems, Inc. |

I asked the seller if there was any partnumber on it, but she couldn't give more information. mfg Dennis -- Das Fischstaebchen: Alle Geschoepfe Gottes vereint unter einer einzigen Panade |

From my experience (my memory may be wrong) I would say that this was common with sun4c boxes. If I should guess the age I would say it's early 90ies. > (It also doesn't > match the color scheme for the early sun4 server boxes I've seen, but > seems to match more the sun3 case colors I've seen.) Looking at my old Sun hardware Sun3 are just as yellow as my 386i and my 4/110. :-) This box looks pretty white for me. Maybe it's a different plastic than the other sun enclosures. mfg Dennis -- Das Fischstaebchen: Alle Geschoepfe Gottes vereint unter einer einzigen Panade |
