You might have better luck with 3rd party frame buffers, but realistically, if you want 24-bit colour, it's best to start with something like an Ultra 1 or Ultra 30, so that you can put a Creator in it. -- Rich Teer, SCNA, SCSA President, Rite Online Inc. I recomend installing with bcollins sparc-mini.iso image. This works on more hardware platforms than the official CD image. It's in: http://auric.debian.org/~bcollins/di...sparc-mini.iso There is also documentation in the same directory. This is a minimal cd, you'll need to have the sparc conencte to a network to fetch your desired packages. Unlike redhat, just install what you think you need, it's easy to add more later. I also recomend subscribing to debian-sparc-request@lists.debian.org. -- Blars Blarson blarson@blars.org http://www.blars.org/blars.html With Microsoft, failure is not an option. It is a standard feature. |

You can also obtain a free > "Evaluation" license. Unfortunately, Sun's pages are less than clear whether the "bought from us" clause also applies to developers and educational users. If I look e.g. at the URL you provided, it seems that that clause applies to all categories. The actual BCL doesn't say anything about it (though it's interesting to see that all non-profit organisations seem to be included under "educational") and the FAQ again doesn't make any distinction between user groups. Blargh. What a mess. The old, free Solaris 8 licence was a lot clearer. Clarifying the Solaris license is part of my mandate within the Solaris Community (although of course, as an outsider, there's only so much I can do). -- Rich Teer, SCNA, SCSA President, Rite Online Inc.
