| Hello everyone, I need some help regarding hard drive issue. I have Sun Ultra 10. I am trying to replace the hard drive. When I put the new hard drive and rebooted from CD ROM to install Solaris 8. I received following notice during bootup from CD ROM. "NOTICE: ata_controller - Primary Channel BSY set after reset". After that Solaris continue to boot from CD ROM with following message "Solaris Web Start 3.0 installer". Then I got option to select languages, so I select English. After that I got message "Solaris installer is searching the system's hard disks for a location to place the Solaris installer software. No Hard disks found on the system. Please see your install documentation. Existing to shell" In other words it is not recognizing the hard drive. Following is the hard drive I am using. Sun Ultra 5/10 4.3GB IDE Hard Drive part# 370-3176 This hard drive works fine in other system. Any clue or suggestion. Regards, NE |

Perchance "probe-ide" in OBP would detect the drive? Kurt -- Fats Loves Madelyn |
