| Hi, we are trying to put all our rack-mountable Sun hardware (220R, 2x280R, D1000 and one E450) in a rack enclosure (to improve the look of our machine room :-) and to utilise more that 8 ports terminal server), but I have no idea what are the recommended racks. There are some requirements specified in the server documentation (and on sunsolve) about load bearing, vertical space and bunch of other requirements, but I have no ideas about the models, prices etc. Does anybody have any recommendation for a budged-aware customers? Thanks and bye, Dragan -- Dragan Cvetkovic, To be or not to be is true. G. Boole No it isn't. L. E. J. Brouwer !!! Sender/From address is bogus. Use reply-to one !!! |

That rules out Sharkrack and Sun branded ones, then. :-) We used APC racks where I used to work, and they worked quite well. -- Rich Teer, SCNA, SCSA President, Rite Online Inc. Thanks Rich. Just went to APC and tried to configure a rack and got the "The NetShelter Configurator is currently only available to 'Internet Explorer' users. We appologise for any inconvenience. | A typical Sun 72" rack would be fine to put together all of your system. Sun has its own rack it for most of Rack mountable machine as like E450, SF280R, E220/E420R. You can check it out from sun web site at http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub to find out which individual Rack it is necessary for your own machine. Shack Rack is one of them as well. RackSolutions http://www.racksolutions.com/index.html Rackmount Solutions http://www.rackmountsolutions.net/ If any Seattle area folks happen to be reading, if there somewhere local you use for rack systems so you can touch the stuff before you buy?
