SBUS is an old slow bus. Sun EOL'd it long ago, probably from it being way too high priced for little to no performance gain. |

There are SBus gigE cards which will work in the U1 (although I doubt any of them were ever qualified for it, and they certainly aren't supported as the U1 is very much EOSL). But don't expect gigE performance out of it - you'll run out of CPU well before you even think about stressing the 1000Mbps mark. Scott |

I used to have my U2 and U1 hooked up using a pair of these cards in a cross-over config. You need to hook them up using multimode fibre. I used to get some improved performance above and beyond the HME interface. BTW - Sun's list price is $2200, however I bought a couple of pre-owned cards on eBay for $10 US each ... HTH, AT |
